A little about me…

Hi, I am Stacey Fernandes (she/her), a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and the Ontario Association of Social Workers.

I am passionate about teaching mindfulness strategies and encouraging self-reflection to tap into your innate authenticity, intuition and cherished values to create transformational changes.

I specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a powerful psychotherapeutic approach that has been extremely helpful to process traumatic events. I completed EMDR training in 2017 and it truly has been an honour to be part of my clients’ healing journey. EMDR helps the brain resume its natural healing process by shifting limiting beliefs, anxiety, stress, depression, trauma and grief.

I enjoy travelling and exploring different diverse cultures. The Himalayas in India and the rainforest in Costa Rica are two of my favourite places in the world. In India, I practiced and gained knowledge about breathing exercises, meditation, spirituality and yoga. In Costa Rica, I attended Hypnotherapy training in the rainforest and often incorporate metaphors and imagery (Ericksonian Style) into my scripts. The imagery in my scripts are often nature-based and tailored to each clients’ unique preferences for personal development. All powerful strategies that I also incorporate into my life.

I am a lifelong learner and dog lover. I live in the country and feel fortunate to explore the Hamilton escarpment daily. Most of the photography on my website is from my hikes in the beautiful Dundas Conservation.

I am looking forward to connecting with you! :)
